Bald Mountain Cemetery Investigation

Bald Mountain Cemetery Investigation, July 3rd 2011
History:
Bald Mountain Cemetery is just a few minutes from Central City, Colorado, in the relative ghost town of Nevadaville, Colorado. Though the cemetery itself dates back to 1877, some of the tombstones within it date back as far as 1855. Yeah, you read that right.
Like many mining towns in Colorado in the 1860s and 1870s, Nevadaville grew rapidly and several graves had to be relocated from their original location inside of town to the land upon which Bald Mountain Cemetery stands today.
Could this have caused unrest among the spirits?
Investigators:
Jimbo, April, Andrew, Tristan, and Josh
Temperature was in the 50s upon arrival at approximately 9:00 P.M. and had not dropped much by the time the group left at approximately 10:30 P.M. Weather was calm and only mildly breezy.
Procedure and Investigation:
A standalone digital audio recorder was left just inside the cemetery gates to record throughout the investigation. We split into two groups to conduct a walk-through of the cemetery and decide which areas we would investigate in more detail. The groups were Andrew and Josh, and Jimbo, April, and Tristan.
EVP session one was conducted by April, Jimbo, and Tristan after Josh and Andrew reported a 1.0 reading on the EMF detector and sensing someone’s presence.
Josh and Andrew continued investigating elsewhere. Josh and Andrew split up during their investigation, with Josh returning to the car for a brief break, leaving Andrew to work alone during this time.
A second EVP session was conducted near the center of the cemetery with Jimbo, April, Andrew, and Tristan standing in a circle and Josh behind the group operating the camcorder.
The third EVP session was a return to the location of EVP session one. Jimbo, April, Andrew, and Tristan were present.
Several digital still photos were taken throughout the evening.
Findings:
Jimbo’s review of the evidence revealed nothing visually, either in still pictures or on video. However, we believe potential audio evidence was obtained.
During the first EVP session an odd clicking sound is captured. We considered the possibility that it could be Tristan’s flashlight and digital camera bumping each other, but the tone and precision of the clicking doesn’t match up. It sounds almost like someone clicking a pen, or perhaps someone firing an old gun but having no bullets.
A similar clicking was also captured on the standalone recorder set up just inside the cemetery gates. Approximately five minutes after this clicking on the standalone was captured, Josh is heard asking if anyone felt anything.

Another capture from EVP session one; it follows April whispering, “I can’t think of any more to ask.” A female sounding voice can be heard underneath April’s voice. It may be saying either “No,” or “Run.”
During the final EVP session, the same site as EVP session one, a whistle is heard.
Conclusion:
No earth shattering events occurred during Para-D’s first group visit to Bald Mountain Cemetery, but the investigation itself was rather short, so we were pleased to have captured potential evidence and a return trip is likely. More research will ensue as well; maybe we can go in with some idea of who’s whistling at us beforehand. Or maybe we won’t find that out until after we get back inside...
